PrestAD is an initiative of the Africa Directo Foundation (an NGO) designed to enable ordinary people to help fund projects for African women directly.
And why work with women? In most cases, they are the ones responsible for managing income and raising their children (the nuclear family). By helping women, you help the whole family.
We work with local partners (who help us from Africa) who organize various projects to help impoverished families to combat the effects of poverty. Most of our local partners are religious (missionary) groups engaged in different educational or medical tasks, as well as the promotion of agriculture and other productive activities by “teaching people to fish and providing the tools to do so, instead of giving fish”. prestAD collaborates with our partners in Africa in programs which provide microcredits and access to financial services to thousands of women who, by virtue of their poverty, are excluded from traditional banking systems.
With your help, via lending, a woman and her family can start a business that in most cases works very well, allowing them to repay the loan with interest. And their family has a higher standard of living, allowing them to feed the children, integrate them into the educational system, and perhaps even break the vicious circle of poverty.
